Booker Statement on Passing of Assemblyman Jerry Green

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement on the passing of New Jersey Assemblyman Jerry Green:

“I join Union County and all of New Jersey in mourning the loss of Assemblyman Jerry Green. Jerry dedicated his career to helping to lift up those most in need, and fought tirelessly to defend equal rights and justice for all. He was a leader and a gentleman who never forgot his roots and always kept Plainfield in his heart. Jerry’s commitment to public service can be seen throughout Plainfield and all of Union County, and his legacy will live on for generations in the community he loved. His work particularly in housing will truly be missed. I extend my deepest condolences to Jerry’s family, including his wife Wanda, his children, Sheldon, Jerry, Jr., Tracey, Tamika and Jeron, his friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.”
