Trenton is a mess. New Jersey’s government is on the brink of shutting down, the Governor and Legislative Democrats are throwing increasingly personal barbs at each other, and all of this is over how badly to hit New Jersey taxpayers with massive tax hikes.

Jay Webber has been clear: he will take no part in any of the tax increases being discussed.

However, as Mikie Sherrill’s party is melting down, she has remained silently complicit with whatever one of these billion dollar tax hikes makes it through.

Mikie Sherrill has taken support from the Governor and multiple Democrat state legislators.  Now, when it’s time to stand up to those who have given her political help and speak out for average New Jerseyans, she is silent.

So let’s recap where Mikie stands, as long as she is getting the support of her party:

Jersey Shore house rental tax: Okay with Sherrill
Billion dollar business tax hike: Okay with Sherrill
Billion dollar individual tax hike: Okay with Sherrill
Sales tax hike: Okay with Sherrill
Transportation tax hike: Okay with Sherrill

Mikie has made it crystal clear that she isn’t willing to stand up to the most extreme elements in her party on taxes, or on anything else.  Her inaction in this instance puts her on the sidelines just when the most overtaxed people in the nation need Democrat leaders to get in the game and defend them.
