Weinberg Urges Governor to Back Transparency Bill in Wake of State of the State Commitment

TRENTON – Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen) issued the following statement in reaction to the Governor’s State of the State Address:

“The Governor offered an optimistic outlook for the future, and with widespread vaccinations in the future, I believe that optimism is justified.

“The Governor also made a commitment to government transparency, and I am hopeful that he will publicly support the legislation that Senator Joseph Vitale and I have sponsored that provides information that should be public about the rationale behind decision-making under the Emergency Health Powers Act. New Jerseyans have come together and made tremendous sacrifices to keep themselves and their families safe. It is in times like these that the public’s right to know is most essential and in need of protection.”
