Zwicker, Freiman, and Drulis Win Somerset County Democratic Committee Endorsement in LD16
LD16 Democratic Slate now has support from all four county parties in critical campaign
Hillsborough, NJ – Tonight, Senator Andrew Zwicker, Assemblyman Roy Freiman and Mitchelle Drulis announced that they received the unanimous support of the Somerset County Democratic Committee in their campaign.
Zwicker, Freiman, and Drulis have now secured four of four county party endorsements. In February and early March, they received the unanimous endorsement of the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee, the Mercer County Democratic Committee, the Middlesex County Democratic Organization, and the Princeton Community Democratic Organization. The 16th District Democratic slate was expected to win the endorsement of the Somerset County Democratic Committee today, after Chairwoman Peg Schaffer announced her support for Zwicker, Freiman, and Drulis, last Wednesday.
“Thank you to Somerset County Democratic Committee Chairwoman Peg Schaffer and Somerset County Democrats for your support,” said Zwicker, Freiman, and Drulis.
“Roy and I have fought to deliver critical federal and state funding for Somerset County to keep moving the county forward,” said Senator Andrew Zwicker. “We are excited for the addition of Mitchelle Drulis to the ticket and her years of constituent services experience. Together, our team will continue to advocate for Somerset County families, and the future of all families across the district, in Trenton, when elected this November.”
Zwicker and Freiman have fought for Somerset County in the state legislature by:
- Providing the largest property tax relief in New Jersey history to homeowners and renters through the ANCHOR program – amounting to over $2 billion in property tax relief
- Making it easier for small businesses and restaurants to recover by providing tax breaks to help them adapt to a post-pandemic economy
- Securing $1 million in funding for 9-1-1 center in Somerset County
- Securing $1 million for the Hillsborough School District to repair damages from Hurricane Ida
Drulis, a small business owner, lives in Raritan Township (Hunterdon) with her husband Michael and their daughter. She has an extensive knowledge and background in government having served as District Director for Congressman Tom Malinowski (NJ-CD7) and as Chief of Staff to Assembly Joe Egan (NJ-LD17), helping secure critical state and federal dollars for Somerset County and the surrounding areas through her work.
Zwicker, Freiman, and Drulis are running to represent the 16th Legislative District which includes Princeton (Mercer County), South Brunswick (Middlesex County), Rocky Hill, Montgomery, Millstone, Hillsborough, Branchburg (Somerset County), Raritan Township, Readington Township, Flemington, High Bridge, Lebanon Borough, Clinton Town, and Clinton Township (Hunterdon County).
