Anna-Marta Visky Takes Command as CWA District 1 Political and Field Director

CWA District 1 is excited to announce that Anna-Marta Visky has been named CWA District 1's New Jersey Political and Field Director. Anna-Marta is a longtime progressive organizer who built enduring grassroots political power in NJ and garnered widespread support for popular issues such as universal healthcare & ending the county line.

Hailing from the Bernie Sanders-founded group Our Revolution, Anna-Marta has extensive movement-building experience, having mobilized volunteers and members around progressive candidates and causes such as workers' rights and democracy. In her first role with CWA, Anna-Marta led the organization’s field operation and was central to implementing the union’s political program throughout District 1. Under her leadership, CWA has turned out a record number of volunteers in last year’s election cycle.

Originally from Romania where she grew up under an authoritarian and oppressive regime, and with a family history rooted in resistance and fighting against dictatorship, Anna-Marta brings a strong commitment to justice and collective power to her new role.

CWA is one of America’s largest and most diverse unions. CWA District 1 represents 145,000 workers in 200 CWA local unions in New York, New Jersey, New England, and eastern Canada. CWA NJ members work in state, local, and country government, telecommunications, health care, and higher education.
