DAVIS RECEIVES HUGE ENDORSEMENTS FROM POLICE AND FIRE
Hudson County, NJ – Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis today received huge endorsements from PBA Local 7, the Police Superior Officers Association (PSOA), FMBA Local 11 and Fire Officers Local 211 for his campaign to be the next Hudson County Sheriff.
Davis has already received the endorsement of the Hudson County Democratic Organization and Democratic Chair Craig Guy and Vice-Chair Mareilka Diaz along with Union City Mayor Brian P. Stack, West New York Mayor Albio Sires, Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis, and Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner.
Davis is being challenged by Frank Schillari. Schillari is running for the sixth time, the most in the history of the county, and has served in a leadership position in the office since the 1990’s.
Davis previously served in the Hudson County Prosecutor’s homicide division before leading a special crimes unit and working alongside prosecutors from several counties, the FBI, U.S. Treasury Department and Department of Justice. Since being elected mayor of Bayonne, he has focused on combating crime and stabilizing the city’s tax rate while fixing the long-standing debt issues.

"We had the privilege of serving under Jimmy Davis, and we saw the difference his leadership made—not just in the department, but across the entire city of Bayonne. Jimmy didn’t just wear the badge—he lived the job. He brought real accountability, boosted morale, and made sure we had the support and resources we needed to protect our community. He helped turn Bayonne around by leading with integrity and purpose. Jimmy always had our backs, and now we’re proud to have his. The members of the Police Union fully endorse Jimmy Davis for Hudson County Sheriff."PBA Local 7- Detective Jason Olmo - President - PSOA– Captain Matt Dugan

He leads with integrity, heart, and a quiet strength that earns respect.”Police Superior Officers Association (PSOA) Captain Matt Dugan - President - FMBA Local 11– Firefighter Mike Monczewski
"Jimmy Davis has always had our backs. Under his leadership, every retiring firefighter has been replaced with someone equally committed and capable—ensuring our department stays strong. He’s also made sure we have the most up-to-date equipment to keep our members safe and protect the residents of Hudson County. We proudly endorse Jimmy Davis for Sheriff—because he understands what it means to serve and protect."Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA) Local 11 - FF Mike Monczewski - President - Fire Officers Local 211– Captain Leo Smith III
After years of working alongside Jimmy Davis, I’ve seen his commitment up close. His strength, honesty, and steady leadership aren’t just words—they’re how he shows up every day. “I am extremely proud to have the endorsements from these courageous entities, just as I was proud to have the Democratic endorsement and the support of so many Democratic mayors across the county,” said Davis. “We live in chaotic times and new challenges call for new leadership. It’s been my life’s work to serve the public, both in law enforcement and as mayor in Bayonne, and I look forward to bringing that experience to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. I’m asking for everyone’s vote in this Democratic Primary so I can help bring the Sheriff’s Office into a new era of fiscal responsibility and responsible community policing.”
The Democratic Primary is Tuesday, June 10th.
