IBEW LOCAL 456 ENDORSES STEVE SWEENEY FOR GOVERNOR
Woodbury, NJ – Today, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 456 has officially announced its endorsement of Steve Sweeney for Governor. Local 456 has pledged their support for the Senate President, citing Steve’s public service with a proven track record of support for working families and labor.

Steve Sweeney is a union Ironworker and has championed policies that uplift workers and strengthen the middle class for his entire career. As Senate President, Steve championed job creation initiatives, boosted wages, and ensured that all New Jersey residents have the chance to thrive. He also stood up to billionaires who tried to break up unions and won, and he remains a dedicated brother in labor across the Garden State.

“Over his career, Steve Sweeney has always stood with labor, and he’s made a real difference in the lives of our members,” said Joe Egan, Business Manager of IBEW Local 456. “As a union ironworker, he knows the challenges that workers face on a daily basis. Steve’s leadership has been crucial in protecting the rights and wages of working men and women in New Jersey, and we’re proud to stand behind Steve so that he can finish the work he started.”

With the announcement of the organization’s endorsement, IBEW Local 456 will mobilize its members and resources to ensure that Steve Sweeney is elected as the next Governor of New Jersey, and Local 456 will continue to advocate for policies that benefit our workforce and communities.
