Kim Condemns Trump’s Freeze on Military Aid to Ukraine

Today, Senator Andy Kim released the following statement responding to reports that President Trump ordered a pause on U.S. military aid to Ukraine.

“The only people celebrating this decision tonight are leaders in Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran. By abandoning our partners in Ukraine, President Trump has sent a signal to every one of our allies that we cannot be trusted, and to every one of our adversaries that America’s word means nothing. Defending democracies and standing up to autocracies was once something that Democrats and Republicans agreed on. I hope my colleagues across the aisle stand up to these actions and this Administration immediately reverses this harmful decision that will cost lives.”

Senator Kim is a member of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP); the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and the Special Committee on Aging. Before being elected to the U.S. Senate, Kim represented New Jersey’s Third Congressional District in the U.S. House and was a career public servant working in national security and diplomacy at the White House, State Department, and Pentagon.
