Statement from the Dominican American Elected and Appointed Officials Caucus of NJ DAEOC-NJ regarding the devastating roof collapse at the Jet Set night club in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
New Jersey… In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 8th a catastrophic roof collapse claimed the lives of hundreds of guests during a concert at the Jet Set Night Club in the capital city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
As the Caucus, representing Dominican American elected and appointed officials throughout the state it is with profound sorrow that we extend our condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones on the occasion of this unfortunate accident. In this national tragedy many prominent Dominicans including members of our communities, our neighbors, friends and constituencies lost their lives and many have been hospitalized.
Today, we join our brothers and sisters in this moment of national mourning and offer the support, that is within our power, to be of aid to them. We offer our prayers and loving thoughts and inspired by Philippians 4:7 we pray the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.
