“How can New Jersey expect her to stand up to Donald Trump when she voted to let him steal taxpayer dollars?”

Now, Sherrill will have to explain why she talks tough on Trump to help her campaign, after she voted to let him profit from taxpayer dollars.

Congresswoman Sherrill was one of just eight House Democrats to vote to allow Defense Department funds – money from taxpayers – to be spent on Trump-owned properties, enabling his long history of grifting and self-enrichment.

Steve Sweeney issued the following statement: 

“First, we found out Congresswoman Sherrill was taking Elon Musk’s money and refused to give it up until she was called out. Now, we find out she voted to let Trump personally profit from taxpayers. Maybe in DC it’s okay for politicians to get rich off government, but New Jerseyans have no patience for it.

“The pattern of hypocrisy from Congresswoman Sherrill is becoming harder and harder to ignore. New Jerseyans deserve answers, not excuses, and it starts with this question: How can New Jersey expect her to stand up to Donald Trump when she voted to let him steal taxpayer dollars?”
