In Public Appearance, Byrne Doesn’t Tease Future Run for Governor

Byrne

Seldom a political cycle passes without the name of Tom Byrne, son of former Governor Brendan Byrne and a former chairman of the Democratic State Committee, entering the conversation as a possible gubernatorial candidate.

New Jersey Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tom Bracken noted as much when he introduced Byrne to the crowd this morning, referring to the buzz that often accompanies Byrne.

But Byrne – who backs Democrat Phil Murphy for Governor this year – didn’t mention the subject as he launched into a substance-based New Jersey unaffordability speech, sticking to economics and refusing to indulge any speculation about future election cycles.
