The office of the late Senator Jim Whelan released the following statement and details of the public memorial for the Senator:

‘Having touched so many lives during his decades of public service as a teacher, lifeguard, City Councilman, Mayor, Assemblyman and Senator, we humbly announce the information for the public memorial in Senator Whelan’s honor.

Thursday, September 14th, 2017

Receiving Line to Pay Respects: 10:00am – 11:30am

Service: 11:30am – 1:00pm

Family will receive guests from 10:00am to 11:30am and tributes by invited dignitaries will be from 11:30am to 1pm.  

Speakers will include statewide and local elected officials, business, sports and local university leaders as well as close friends of Senator Whelan.
