Reacting to Train Derailment, Wisniewski Vows to Work with Amtrak and NJ Transit

Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-19), the chairman of the Assembly Transportation Committee, snapped to attention in the aftermath of news reports about the derailment of an Amtrak Train in Penn Station Friday morning.

“As the investigation into this accident begins, it must provide to the thousands of commuters who are in and out of Penn Station every day a complete and thorough understanding of what exactly went wrong,” said Wisniewski, a Democratic candidate for governor who this week qualified for matching funds.

“As transportation committee chair, I will work with Amtrak and NJ Transit to ensure the necessary fixes and upgrades are completed and that everyone who uses those train lines is assured of the safety of their commute,” the assemblyman added.
