According to a report in the Palm Springs Desert Sun, former Governor Christie hinted that his presidential aspirations may not be over.
The report details Christie’s appearance at an event in Indian Wells (CA) as part of a town hall series by the Berger Foundation ahead of the release of his upcoming book next week. The report says Christie took a ‘shrewd and measured approach’ towards President Trump when talking about the shutdown in what the paper described as a ‘broad and crowd-pleasing speech’.
Christie said ‘the president made the fundamental mistake, in my view, when he said in his first meeting with the couple he affectionately calls ‘Chuck and Nancy,’ ‘I’ll shut down the government. I’ll own the shutdown. I’ll be happy to do it. Now, we’re 32 days in and no one knows how to get out’.
Christ also added ‘I think, in many ways, he’s exactly what the country needs right now, but the job is too big for any one person. He does things that need to be done to politicians in Washington D.C., which is to tell them business as usual is over’.
His time is has passed – if he ever had a time. His delegate count will be the same as last time only because it can’t get any worse. Just go away and leave us alone. He was a terrible governor who could never be trusted.
