According to a report in the Bergen Record, Englewood Cliffs Police Chief Michael Cioffi was suspended after a recording surfaced in which he says he’d ‘like to kill’ Councilwoman Carrol McMorrow.  The recording, which was part of the discovery process in a lawsuit filed by the chief against the mayor, was publicly played at a Council meeting last week.

Cioffi’s attorney said that the comment was nothing more than a ‘silly joke’, according to the report.
