Rest in Peace, Paulsboro Mayor John D. Burzichelli

Paulsboro Mayor John D. Burzichelli, the father of veteran Assemblyman John Burzichelli (D-3), died Saturday at the age of 83.

He was Paulsboro’s longest-serving mayor, serving for 16 years in that executive position.

According to the South Jersey Times, Mr. Burzichelli was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.

Born in Woodbury and a life-long Paulsboro resident, Mayor Burzichelli graduated from Paulsboro High School Class of 1951 and retired after 15 years of service as storehouse manager with Mobil Oil Company.  In addition, he served for eight years on the Paulsboro Board of Education, was a Life Member of the Billingsport Volunteer Fire Association, served on the Gloucester County Utility Authority and the Gloucester County Mosquito Commissions and the Borough Council.
