Saddle Brook’s Kugler Joins Republican Party

 

HACKENSACK, NJ —- Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert J. Kugler announced today that he has officially joined the Republican Party and would be actively participating with the Bergen County Republican Organization (BCRO). Kugler previously affiliated as a Democrat, and was a candidate for Sherriff in 2018.

BCRO Chairman Jack Zisa welcomed Kugler to the Republican Party and made the following statement:

“I am delighted to welcome Chief Kugler to the Republican Party. We appreciate his commitment to keeping our communities safe and we look forward to working with him in the future. Public safety, support for our law enforcement officers and a commitment to law and order are sacred trusts in the Republican Party, and Chief Kugler’s impeccable leadership credentials and experience are invaluable as we move forward.”

“There comes a time in everyone’s life where you must take a strong stand for your values. My values are represented by the Bergen County Republican Party and its commitment to law enforcement. I look forward to active participation and advocating for our law enforcement community and the well-being of Bergen County’s almost one million residents,” said Kugler.

Kugler has served the Saddle Brook Police Department as Chief of Police since 1995. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy and the West Point Command and Leadership Program. Chief Kugler is past President of the New Jersey and Bergen County Police Chiefs Associations, is a New Jersey Certified Public Manager, and holds a Master’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
