Saleh and Assemblywoman Ramirez Announce Joint Run for Assembly, Backing Fulop for Governor

Councilman Yousef J. Saleh has officially launched his campaign for the New Jersey General Assembly. He is running alongside Assemblywoman Jessica Ramirez, who is seeking re-election, as part of a unified team supporting Mayor Steven Fulop’s gubernatorial bid. The announcement was made at a packed meet-and-greet in Jersey City Heights, where the candidates shared their vision for a stronger and more inclusive New Jersey.
“I am proud to stand with Assemblywoman Ramirez and Mayor Fulop to fight for bold, progressive leadership in Trenton,” said Saleh. “Our priorities are affordable housing, economic opportunity, and quality healthcare. We are ready to deliver real results for our communities.”
Saleh, who represents Jersey City’s Ward D, has been a leader in infrastructure improvements, small business support, and community safety. His work on pay transparency and the right to counsel highlights his commitment to fairness and justice.
Assemblywoman Ramirez praised Saleh’s leadership, stating, “Yousef is a champion for our communities. We have made great progress in the Assembly, but there is more work ahead. Together, with Mayor Fulop’s leadership, we can drive real change for New Jersey.”
Mayor Fulop endorsed the team, calling them dedicated public servants who will bring the same energy and results-driven approach to Trenton that has transformed Jersey City.
The primary election is on June 10, 2025. Saleh, Ramirez, and Fulop are committed to a campaign focused on grassroots outreach and policies that put people first.
