Salem County Announces Start of COVID-19 Drive Thru Testing Next Week
From Salem County:
The Salem County Department of Health and Human Services, in partnership with Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers and PSEG, will begin testing Salem County residents for COVID-19 next week at a drive thru testing site.
We will only accept individuals who are Salem County residents and who are currently showing symptoms of COVID-19, such as dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Individuals who meet this criteria and who wish to be tested must call ahead to schedule an appointment. Any individuals without an appointment will not be accepted at the test site to allow for minimal wait times and to protect the safety of all staff working the testing site.
Beginning on Monday, April 13, any individual who wants to be tested can call the Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers’ telehealth line at 609-569-4510 between the hours of 9am-1pm to begin the process of scheduling an appointment. The line to schedule appointments will be open every Monday and Wednesday from 9am-1pm. All residents who call will be pre-screened by a Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers provider to ensure they meet all testing criteria. If testing is recommended based on the provider’s screening, the individual will be prompted to schedule an appointment and will be given specific instructions regarding time and location of the test.
Salem County residents who have made an appointment to be tested must bring their government issued I.D. to the testing site at the time of their appointment. Once testing is completed, the Salem County Department of Health will ensure that all patients who are tested receive their test results within 2-4 days of testing.
We advise that all individuals continue to practice social distancing and remain vigilant in efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to monitor the Salem County website and Health Department Facebook and Twitter for the most updated information and case counts.
