From Salem County:

The Salem County Department of Health and Human Services is in the process of planning a COVID-19 drive-thru testing site. The Health Department has been diligently working to purchase COVID-19 test kits and is moving forward with preparations for a drive-thru test site in the County. The testing will be by appointment only for residents of Salem County. No out of county residents will be accepted.

Detailed information regarding how to schedule an appointment and additional testing criteria will be released later this week. In addition, residents are advised to check the Salem County website along with the Salem County Health Department Facebook and Twitter pages for the latest Salem County information on COVID-19.

As of Tuesday, April 7, 2020, there have been 33 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 along with 3 COVID-19 associated deaths reported in Salem County. The Salem County Department of Health and Human Services will be posting the daily count on the Salem County Government website, www.salemcountynj.gov , as well as the Salem County Department of Health Facebook and Twitter pages. The totals will be posted by 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The weekend totals will be posted Monday morning at by 9am. We will no longer be posting daily news releases with gender, age and municipality as our case count continues to rise.

We want to assure residents that we are working 7 days a week to address the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to update our residents as new information arises. Continue to monitor the NJDOH dashboard for updated state case counts and all of our social media accounts for all new information.

According to the NJDOH, the statewide COVID-19 count as of Wednesday, April 8th is 47,437 cases and 1,504 fatalities, an increase of 3,088 cases and 275 fatalities from Tuesday.
