The decision by attorney John McCann to primary state Senator Gerald Cardinale in the 39th District doesn’t jam up Cardinale’s seat mate, Assemblyman Holly Schepisi (R-39).

She’s with Cardinale.

Bergen insiders thought octogenarian Cardinale would retire this year and Schepisi would succeed him. But Cardinale wants to run again, and the assemblywoman is loyal.

Still- it doesn’t make the matter of governor any easier.

“I have good relationships with both of them,” Shepisi said of Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno and Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-16).

She can’t commit to either one of them at present.

She’s waiting to see how the field develops.
