Senate To Operate Remotely For ‘Foreseeable Future’

Sweeney

Statement from Richard McGrath, spokesman for New Jersey Senate Democratic Majority:

“Due to the increase in cases of COVID-19, Senate leaders have decided that Senate sessions and committee meetings will be conducted remotely for the foreseeable future. We have functioned successfully with in-person sessions that included strict safety protocols since mid-July, but conditions have changed and we are responding responsibly. We want to be as cautious as possible in protecting the health and safety of legislators, staff and the public while we continue to do the legislative work that is needed during this crisis.”
