Two-hundred fifty to 300 people affiliated with the Montclair Democrats showed up at the Valley Regency in Clifton tonight in support of headliner Mikie Sherrill, who’s running for Congress in the 11th District.

The Chairman Brendan Gill-led organization also played host to Governor Phil Murphy, there to back up Sherrill with five days on the clock until Election Day, as did Jeh Johnson, former secretary of Homeland Security, community activist Rosemary Iverson, and the Montclair Cobras, celebrating their 50th anniversary.

Sherrill gave the keynote.
