Silva Receives Endorsement from 50 East Ward Community Leaders

Silva

Today, a group of 50 community leaders from Newark’s East Ward endorsed the candidacy of Michael J. Silva for the East Ward City Council seat. The endorsements for Silva follow several recent affirmations for his candidacy from Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin, retiring Councilman Augusto Amador and The Heavy and General Construction Laborers Local 472.

“Michael represents the best that the East Ward has to offer,” said Community Leader and Youth Advocate Zee Oliviera. “I have seen Michael work for nearly two decades in the East Ward as our community services detective. His tireless work when no one was looking really stood out to myself and other community leaders. We could not be more excited to support Michael in his run for office.”

“I am truly honored and humbled by this endorsement. Throughout my career I have worked tirelessly to serve the people of the East Ward and to have the support of these community icons means the world to me.” said Michael J. Silva. “There are a lot of critical issues facing our ward and  as your Councilman, I will work to make our community a place we are all proud to call home.”
