Governor Phil Murphy jumped on the phones this afternoon with a fierce sense of urgency in an effort to change the minds of those lawmakers either on the fence or opposed to the recreational legalization of marijuana.

For about the past 40 minutes “he’s been burning up the phones,” a Trenton source told InsiderNJ.

The governor planned to talk to both senators and assembly people before the day was done, the source added.
