Scouring LG options, a source today told InsiderNJ that the campaign of Phil Murphy is taking a long and hard look-see at Assemblywoman Marlene Caride (D-36).

Most sources say Murphy’s choice come down to Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (D-350 versus Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver (D-34).

But Caride is also going through the vetting process, according to the source, as the campaign gives the once over to an Hispanic candidate against the backdrop of a chunk of the Democratic establishment – including South Jersey and Middlesex County – trying to give sitting Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32) the heave ho.
