Source: Republican LD38 Assembly Candidate Considering Leaving Contest

Seymour

Matt Seymour, a Republican candidate for the assembly in LD38, is considering abandoning his campaign after the primary, a source told InsiderNJ.

The source said Seymour, an attorney who represents the survivors of domestic abuse, is apparently dismayed by the lack of receptivity in the party establishment to some of his ideas. He got into contest with noble intentions, but so far has found a party resistant to some of the progressive measures he wants to discuss and, if elected, implement.

He hasn’t made a final decision, the source said, but the young father running in what in years past has been a battleground legislative district is actively looking at bowing out on the other side of Tuesday.
