Source: Stay Buckled Up for Hudson

The war will endure.

Other elements of government and political life will spark and wither and die.

But the war will go on.

“I thought at first that Menendez would make a difference,” a source in Hudson told InsiderNJ.

But he won’t, the source added, a reference to the powerful U.S. Senator with his thumbs perennially in the pie of his home county.

Talks have amounted to little more than bar buzz.

“Nothing has changed,” the source added, acknowledging the ongoing rift between state Senator Brian P. Stack (D-33) and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop on one side and Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise and state Senator Nick Sacco (D-32) on the other.

There will be a fight over the county executive seat in 2019, the source said; and there will be a fight over the chairmanship in June.
