Source: Uncharted Country – or Not Even 18

A source, watching the late flurry of activity, said it does indeed look over for the legalization of recreational marijuana.

This is a former Statehouse insider, popping popcorn at the edge of Trenton.

“I don’t recall ever seeing when a Governor and senate President of the same party couldn’t get to 21 when they’re at 18 or better,” said the source.

It was either uncharted country.

Or they didn’t even have 18.

Again, it’s possible they were more like 16-17.

Senator Paul Sarlo (D-36) was a no.

So was Senator Robert Singer (R-30).

And they were supposed to be on the bill as part of Murphy’s pathway.

They weren’t.

It looked and felt persistently grim under the late flurries of activity.

The source added, “If that holds, it says something. And I’m not sure how much it has to do with marijuana.”
