Hudson County Democratic Organization Chair Defends First Lady Tammy Murphy

Amy DeGise, Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) Chairwoman, defends First Lady Tammy Murphy after South Jersey power broker George Norcross III said Murphy thinks she is the queen of England.

Hudson County Democratic Organization Chairwoman Amy DeGise today issued the following statement in support of First Lady Tammy Murphy following disparaging remarks directed towards her by George Norcross:

“Tammy Murphy is a role model for women across New Jersey who want to make a difference in other peoples’ lives, and her work on issues like maternal health and infant mortality are nothing short of inspiring. It’s incredibly disappointing to see her be publicly attacked when she’s devoted her time as First Lady to helping women, children and families live a better life, but maybe some people just aren’t used to seeing a powerful woman in the public eye who has a truly equal relationship with her husband. I’m proud to call Mrs. Murphy a friend and a mentor and I stand with her 100%.”

  1. Wow, a county chair supporting someone not on the ballot! Of course everyone knows that Gov. Tammy makes all of the decisions. Phony Phil has no idea what he’s supposed to do, nor what she is doing. Of course Me Too Tammy left Katie Brennan high and dry because there will be no scandals in HER Administration. Have another Bud Phil!

  2. Amy DeGise, the first female Chairperson of the Hudson County Democratic Organization is a strong leader for all of us in Hudson County. Governor Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy are truly leaders complimenting each other in all areas of assisting the people of New Jersey.
I am proud to be a member of the Hudson County Democratic Organization with Amy DeGise at the helm and proud to be a resident of the State of New Jersey with Phil Murphy as our Governor.
