In a Remember the Alamo move, John Stewart, formerly the chief of staff to Plainfield Mayor Adrian Mapp, is now serving as the campaign manager for Acting Union County Democratic Chair Colleen Mahr.

Mahr wants to cement herself as county party chair but she must get through a very competitive challenger in the person of state Senator Nick Scutari (D-22).

Now she has Stewart at her side.

Stewart left city hall earlier this week amid buzz about a rattled local Democratic Committee in Plainfiled, where Mapp serves as party chairman. Mapp backs Mahr rival Scutari for the chairmanship, to the chagrin of some of his backers, Stewart apparently among them.
