Hoboken is running about 20% higher turnout than elsewhere, according to midday turnout numbers.
The totals so far:
Ward 1: 1170
Ward 2: 1626
Ward 3: 1482
Ward 4: 1265
Ward 5: 1491
Ward 6: 1253
That’s 8,287 total, compared to 6,487 in 2013.
At midday, a Hoboken source said he expected a 14K total election, but rain threatened his projection.
Sources in Middlesex said Edison – scene of a local mayor’s race – is also spiking hard. And in Jersey City, where Mayor Steven Fulop is running for reelection, turnout is also strong.
