Tammy Murphy Barnstorms Passaic County
WAYNE – Tammy Murphy didn’t come to Passaic County’s reorganization ceremony Wednesday night to campaign for the U.S. Senate.
But John Currie was there to do it for her.
The Passaic County Democratic Chair introduced First Lady Murphy to a crowd of a few hundred people at the county’s Technical Institute. The First Lady and the governor are making the rounds this week to annual reorganization meetings occurring all over the state.
After highlighting Murphy’s work as First Lady, Currie got right to the point.
He said he’s going to do all that he can to make Tammy Murphy New Jersey’s first woman U.S. Senator. And he urged the crowd to do the same.
There was applause to be sure, but it was not overwhelming.
Murphy’s declaration to seek the Senate seat that Bob Menendez seems destined to vacate – one way or another – has not drawn enthusiastic support in all quarters of the Democratic party.
Rep. Andy Kim, who jumped into the race as soon as Menendez’ indictment came down, says his internal polls give him a healthy lead over Murphy.
Also in the race for the Democratic nod are Larry Hamm, Patricia Campos-Medina and for the moment, Menendez.
Support for Kim seems to be coming from party voters upset with what they see as misguided nepotism.
Currie spoke about that, declaring that Murphy is a good candidate in her own right and that it makes no difference who her husband is. He said she has “earned” support.
This was an official government event – the swearing in of a county clerk and two commissioners who were elected last fall.
Murphy’s appearance had to do with her role as First Lady, not a Senate candidate. However, there is obvious overlap here.
Nonetheless, Murphy stuck to official business. She said nothing about the Senate campaign and spoke only about the three candidates being sworn-in, praising them as dedicated public servants.
They were Commissioners Bruce James and Orlando Cruz and Clerk Danielle Ireland-Imhoff.
Murphy said conscientious officials willing to serve are invaluable these days during a time of antipathy and cynicism.
That, she said, is the only way for our democracy to endure.
And then, the First Lady was off to her next speaking engagement on the reorganization circuit – the Borough of Glen Rock.

This is nepotism. Nepotism is one of the oldest and most enduring forms of corruption in the world, and it is alive and well in NJ. It’s time for NJ to end corruption and elect a Senator with experience and integrity. The good news: We have that in Andy Kim.
It is interesting that Tammy Murphy showed up in Passaic County first. According to ATTOM Data, a nationwide leader in real estate property data shows that Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Sussex and Ocean Counties, along with some NYC counties, Illinois and California (all Democrat mismanaged states) indicate a real estate downturn next year due to higher levels of foreclosures, unemployment and underwater mortgages.” In other words–a HOUSING MARKET CRASH!!!!!
You can thank the mismanagement of the Murphy Administration driving the budget into the stratosphere and doubling it in 8 years since Gov. Christie left office, the 2-year COVID lockdown which did nothing but crush the state economy and ruin a generation of children because of long-term school closures, causing over $4 BILLION TAXPAYERS’ DOLLARS to be spent on illegal immigrants, giving them free healthcare, free education, free housing, free welfare, free foodstamps, free legal svcs., free cash, etc. [money that should have been used to cut senior property taxes by 50%–or more–according to proposed legislation on this], and generally over-regulation of small businesses in New Jersey.
Keep the other Murphy away from this state, after her husband has essentially destroyed and dismantled the state economy and has turned New Jersey into the No. 1 state for emigration of the producer-class to more liberty friendly, 2nd Amendment friendly, and less tax states.
On both sides of the aisle, we have the same situation in this race: There is an out-of-touch elitist woman with money trying to buy the seat but getting, according to industry analysts, “bad reviews” and doesn’t meet with the People, and really just one competitor (Andy Kim and myself) with any chance who is a grassroots man who connects with the People and has a history of success and putting the public interest ahead of personal gain. I am calling for a debate between Andy Kim and myself, a la DeSantis/Newsom, to make sure everyone knows they have options instead of leaving the primaries to hand-picked anointed ones from the Establishment. If the primary is ignored by too many, we will yet again hear the chorus of voters in November asking “Is this the best candidates that could be found?”, and once again finding those who do bother to vote in November continuing the unfortunate tradition of voting AGAINST someone, instead of being excited to vote FOR someone.
