Tedesco Announces Intentions to Run for Reelection in 2022

Insider NJ gives results for several 2019 Primary Elections in Bergen County.

Amid the political turbulence around the impending retirement of Lou Stellato as Democratic Party chair, Bergen County Executive James Tedesco – or his allies, at least – today indicated he intends to run for reelection in 2022.

The popular Tedesco just last year won reelection to a second term in a walk-over contest.

His campaign Facebook page this morning:

Ensuing Bergen buzz carried a note of surprise.

After all, Tedesco handily won reelection in 2018 and has the reputation of being strong in his own right. Still, Stellato’s imminent departure evidently created the political impetus for Tedesco putting a fine point on future intentions.
