A write-in school board candidate for the Somerset Hills District in Bernardsville has perhaps furnished the most telling mailer of the season.

It (above) speaks for itself in a cycle pitting extremists from both sides against each other.

The Murphy Campaign took Jack Ciattarelli to task for trying to gin up his base with the comment; “We’re not teaching sodomy in the 6th grade.”

“There’s a lot going on at your kitchen table,” Murphy grinned, then grew grim as he chastised the Republican for using “sodomy” as a dog whistle, during their lone debate.

Ciattarelli last night at his last rally shot back indignantly, “There sure is [a lot going on at the family kitchen table],” apparently arguing the urgency for family values discourse.

The candidate whose name is on the mailer but who could not be reached for comment apparently wanted in – with a vengeance – on that debate – or some debate, anyway.
