The Full Statement by Assemblywoman Garnet R. Hall

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — I accept the result of the Essex County Democratic Convention and the will of district leaders across the 28th Legislative District.

Following careful consideration, I have decided not to seek re-election to the New Jersey State Assembly. My time serving the people of the 28th Legislative District gave me great insight into the legislative process, the hopes and aspirations of New Jerseyans, and the critical role that we, the people, play in our democracy. It has been both an honor and a privilege to serve my constituents in Trenton, and I will continue doing so with the same determination for the remainder of my term.

Looking toward the November election, we must fight to ensure that a Democrat remains in the Governor’s seat. This is a fight that will take our collective action, for it is a cause bigger than any one of us.
