A mutual associate of both women described Katie Brennan and Esther Suarez as two “super smart professionals, good people,” who seemed like a natural fit for a roomful of about 15 similarly successful people, who all got together on August 30^th.

It was a social gathering at 15 Fox Place in Jersey City, described as a cordial event for professionals brought together by mutual friends.

Eating, talking, hanging out, a source told InsiderNJ.

There was no official context to the social, where, the source said, Hudson County Prosecutor Suarez and New Jersey Housing and Finance Agency Chief of Staff Brennan were observed talking to each other.

The event lasted “a couple of hours.”

“I know they were talking,” a source told InsiderNJ.

They all were.

Both a spokesperson for Brennan and a source with more knowledge of the gathering said Brennan and Suarez did not speak about the allegation against Alvarez on that occasion.
