ON the ballot today as he pursues reelection, state Senator Jeff Van Drew (D-1) will not rule out running next year for the congressional seat currently occupied by U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-2).

Harry Hurley this afternoon reported that LoBiondo will not run next year, and Van Drew has long been rumored to be his likely successor.

“It is something I will take extremely seriously and it is something I have not ruled out,” Van Drew told InsiderNJ. “As the future unfolds we will examine it, but at this point I have to really concentrate on today.”
