The Morris County freeholder team of Deborah Smith, John Krickus and Stephen Shaw seem to be on their way to victory in the GOP primary.

With a little more than half the votes counted, the trio of Smith, Krickus and Shaw was up by about 3,000 votes over incumbent John Cesaro and newcomer Aura Dunn.

“Ballot position killed me,” said Cesaro, an incumbent who seems about to lose his seat.

The apparent winners had the top three ballot spots.
