TRENTON – Trenton insiders gawked at the spectacle of South Jersey Democratic power broker George Norcross in the Senate Gallery at the side of powerful Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo.

At the podium looking out if you were Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3), Norcross and DiVincenzo occupied the right flank, generating reminiscences of the Rat Pack occupying the upper reaches of the ballroom that JFK and Jackie danced in after the 35th President assumed the oath of office.
