A Friday fundraiser in Monmouth County attended by Republican gubernatorial nominee Kim Guadagno, Gov. Chris Christie and RGA Chairman Scott Walker netted the RGA $2.1 million.

Held at the house of Shoprite stud Richard Saker – not far from Democrat Phil Murphy’s Middletown manse – the event featured speaking parts by Christie and Walker, both of whom ofered strong endorsements of Guadagno, according to a Republican source with knowledge of the event.

A prevailing positive mood accompanied the event, as Republicans see an opening in Murphy’s tax plan, the source said.

“There are a lot of folks realizing what Murphy’s agenda would mean for New Jersey and they’re turning to the Guadagno Campaign,” the source told InsiderNJ . “For the RGA chair to come to the state and stand with Chris Christie and for both to give very strong endorsements shows how weak the Democratic candidate is here and shows a strong signal of momentum.”
