Webber Claims Momentum on the Heels of Monmouth Poll

Assemblyman Jay Webber’s spokesperson reacted to this morning’s Monmouth University Poll that shows Democrat Mikie Sherrill leading Webber by four points in the pair’s CD-11 contest.
“This poll shows that Montclair Mikie Sherrill cannot spend her way into making people believe she’s not a Nancy Pelosi liberal,” said Ronica Cleary. “She’s spent $4.5 million dollars so far to buy herself a dead heat with four weeks to go. Mikie’s support is capped out, the generic ballot favors Republicans, and Jay Webber has the momentum in this race.”

Well, that’s one way to put “we’re losing the race for a seat that our party has held for decades.”
According to NJTV’s poll, which they cited on air, Webber won the debate 51-49. Real Clear Politics, a widely cited source, has moved this race from “leans democrat” to “toss up”. Webber’s claim of “momentum” appears to be legitimate.
