Webber Lights into Sherrill after Arrest of Bomb Threat Suspect

Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26) released the following statement in light of bombing threats against multiple political enemies of President Donald J. Trump: “The person or persons responsible for the series of bomb threats over this past week should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I am thankful to law enforcement, the Secret Service, FBI, and all others involved with today’s arrest and their commitment to protecting the public.”

The CD-11 Republican candidate – who last night attended a fundraiser sponsored by Trump – then took a swipe at his opponent.

“Mikie Sherrill’s politicization of this very serious crime is the exact type of divisive politics she pretends to oppose,” Webber added. “Coming in the same week my family was threatened, and a week after Sherrill’s allies promised to ‘take me down,’ Sherrill’s comments are hypocritical, wildly irresponsible,  and beneath the office she seeks.”

Prior to law enforcement authorities’ arrest of a suspect in Florida, the President lashed out at the media:

“A very big part of the Anger we see today in our society is caused by the purposely false and inaccurate reporting of the Mainstream Media that I refer to as Fake News. It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!”
