Webber Savages Murphy’s ‘Liberal Spending Scheme’
Running for Congress in CD11, Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Phil Murphy’s inaugural budget message:
“Budgets are about priorities, and any state budget that does not make property tax relief its number one priority is just out of touch with the people of New Jersey. Instead of sharing our priorities, Governor Murphy’s budget shows that his highest priority is hiking taxes. He wants our already-overburdened people to pay hundreds of millions more in sales tax on their everyday purchases. And because even that huge tax hike is not enough to satisfy his liberal spending schemes, he also demands an income-tax increase on top. Governor Murphy’s budget is reckless and punitive to the taxpayers, and the Legislature should reject it out of hand.”
