Weinberg Backs Cryan

Senator Weinberg at today's virtual press conference.

Citing his ongoing dedication in the fight to advance Democratic principles, Senator Loretta Weinberg today endorsed Senator Joseph Cryan’s campaign for re-election in the 20th legislative district.  Senator Weinberg has long been praised as a champion of progressive values and is a leader in the continuing efforts to combat sexual harassment with her Workgroup on Harassment, Sexual Assault and Misogyny in New Jersey Politics.

“Joe Cryan has been a colleague of mine in both the Assembly and the Senate so I’ve had the opportunity to witness first hand his dedication and commitment to the Democratic principles that form the bedrock of our Party,” said Senator Weinberg.  “Joe proved himself to be a champion for Democrats all over the state as the former Chairman of the State Democratic Party and his long history in the legislature fighting for those he represents is a record of which he should be proud.  Most recently, Joe has worked to provide fact-based scientific guidance to his constituents in the face of the devastating coronavirus pandemic while also pushing to safely and securely re-open our schools and small businesses to make sure our communities strive.”

Cryan thanked Senator Weinberg for her support.  “I am grateful for Senator Weinberg’s support in my re-election efforts.  She has long been called the ‘Conscience of the Legislature’ and I have had the good fortune to see why up close.  The Senator’s efforts to fight sexual harassment and eliminate misogyny in the workplace have been extraordinary and I look forward to continuing to work with her in advancing important legislation that will help end discrimination.”
