Zisa Prepares for a Special Election for Sheriff

Bergen County Republican Committee Chairman Jack Zisa says his organization is vetting candidates for sheriff in a special election on Nov. 6th.

“I am confident there will be a special election and we will have a candidate,” Zisa told InsiderNJ.

Like the Democrats, Zisa acknowledged the surprise factor with the 37-day rule that specifically applies to the office of sheriff.

He said his legal team is going over the fine points, but they are prepared to convene a special convention to select a candidate, Zisa said.

Some names in the GOP game for sheriff are here.
