Democrats are increasingly animated about the state senate prospects of Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker (D-16) and state Senator Vin Gopal (D-11) as VBMs trickle in.

Zwicker is ahead now.

After trailing this morning, Zwicker leads Republican Mike Pappas by 2,349 votes.

A win by the Princeton plasma physicist would throw a slab of caucus muscle onto the Middlesex mesomorph, already enhanced by the presence of state Senator Joe Cryan (D-20), and a plunge into the lower depths last night by South Jersey.

Middlesex County Democratic Committee Chairman Kevin McCabe already has five senators with Cryan.

The South Brunswick-based Zwicker would be gravy.
