Today, MBI announced the addition of Kayvon Paul to the firm as an associate.
“We are very excited to announce the addition of Kayvon Paul to the MBI team,” said Raul “Rudy” Garcia, president, MBI. “When you meet Kayvon it’s clear he is not only intelligent and likable, he is beyond his years in terms of his level of maturity and focus. The bad news is Kayvon sat for the LSAT exam and was accepted to attend a number of great law schools. The good news is Kayvon caught the political bug during his college years and has decided to join MBI instead. We welcome Kayvon to the MBI family.”
“I am really excited about the opportunity and looking forward to working at a great firm staffed with a great group of public affairs professionals,” said Paul. “Working on federal, state and local political campaigns gave me a close look at the political and electoral processes in the State of New Jersey. Joining MBI gives me a front row seat.”
Kayvon has three successful political campaigns under his belt. In 2016, Paul served as a field-organizing intern for Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. In 2017, he managed a school board ticket that ousted two incumbents in his hometown of Asbury Park, NJ. Later that year, Kayvon served as a field organizer for the campaign that led to the election of Vin Gopal— New Jersey’s first Indian-American State Senator.
Paul joins MBI from Garden State Equality, which is New Jersey’s largest LGBT interest group that represents over 150,000 members. As the Community Outreach Coordinator of Garden State Equality, Kayvon strengthened community partnerships and grassroots efforts throughout the State by organizing county-wide membership meetings, and assisting with large-scale events and fundraisers. Paul also worked as a Research Assistant while working for the accredited Monmouth University Polling Institute, creating datasets for congressional house races across the country for the 2018 midterms. Paul is also a co-chair and founding member of the Asbury Park Young Democrats and Monmouth University Democrats and will graduate from Monmouth University in May with a B.A. in Political Science.
MBI, formerly MBI Gluck-Shaw, has been bringing in new hires over the past year under the leadership of new firm head Garcia, including Chris James and Michele Jaker.
