Women’s March on the Pentagon

Women’s March on the Pentagon
Women’s March on the Pentagon (WMOP) is excited to announce we are ready and rarin’ to go for our long anticipated march and rally at ground-zero for US imperialism, the Pentagon.
“We envisioned this principled non-partisan march on the bi-partisan war machine at the beginning of this year. Despite obstacles, we are excited that many people have been attracted to this long over-due antiwar march in Washington, DC,” said one of the lead organizers, antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan, from her home in California.
“Women must come together to dismantle the war machine that is ravaging our world,” said Diane Moxley, resident of Garwood, and long-time anti-war activist. “The war machine destroys the planet, takes the lives of countless children, and actually puts Americans at greater risk. Women are the heartbeat of the planet; it is Women who must join together and demand the end to U.S. sanctioned and facilitated death and destruction. We must lead with our hearts, strength and courage to do what we know is right and just.”
Added Madelyn Hoffman, resident of Flanders and former director of a non-profit peace organization for almost 20 years, “We need those who are concerned about the endless wars – their human and financial costs – to get back out in the streets. This isn’t a Democrat or Republican issue. The war machine and the military-industrial complex affects every aspect of our lives and both political parties seem attached to the idea that the only way to resolve international differences is through war. We disagree and hope that this event will spark anti-war activists throughout the country to get busy making this an ‘anti-war’ autumn.”
