The Union County Democratic Committee had a less than stellar night in a county still wounded by a brutal chair’s fight earlier this year.

Chairman Nick Scutari lost his hometown of Linden to incumbent Mayor Derek Armstead.

His candidate for mayor in Garwood also lost.

His allies failed to prevail in Roselle, where they lost two seats.

In Union, an independent expenditure backed by Scutari’s allies failed to pick up two committee seats.

In Plainfield, Scutari ally Mayor Adrian Mapp had a thumbs up and thumbs down night.
